Code of ethics

The following are principles of ethical behavior for those affiliated with INLS:

It is the responsibility of the INLS* officials, board members, advisors, and executive members (to maintain a balance between the need in society to use a cultural property (Nepali Language, Literature and culture), and to ensure the preservation of that cultural property*.)

All actions of the INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members must be governed by an informed respect for the integrity of the organization.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members shall strive to attain the highest possible standards in all aspects of Nepali language, literature and culture promotion and preservation, including publication, education, research, documentation and organizing workshops.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members must abide by appropriate Language, Literature and Culture promotion measures.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members must recognize their limitations and recognize the special skills, and knowledge of others.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members must be sensitive to other language, literature and culture.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members must contribute to the promotion of Nepali language, literature and culture by sharing information and experience.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members shall act with honesty and integrity in all professional relationships, recognize the rights of all colleagues and respect the mission and the programs of the organization.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors and executive members shall work towards collaborating efforts with other sister organizations globally.

The INLS officials, board members, advisors, and executive members have an obligation to comply with and to promote an understanding of this code of Ethics.
